  1. Canada VS Colombia:

There are so many manners and differences that determine the culture clash of a country, traditional customs, and social manner However, an analysis of both countries is made with great contrasts that exist between Colombia and another nearby country in Europe. How great, I will talk about the behaviors of Canadian society and what role they play against Colombian culture. On the other hand, we will develop the history of Colombia as a cultural country to know the origin and similarities with Canada. In consequence, aspects related to social behavior and education in each country will be based. The differences between two countries in Latin America and North America. While some differences between Canada and Colombia and their customs and manners the similarities cultural are pronounced. One of the differences from Colombia with Canada is not that big of a country. In general, talking about countries big or small, but there is something common that Canadians are overly educated, while Colombians are well known for their undereducation, although no one justifies it, this intercultural clash over social manners is still affecting the way how Canadians see Colombians in their country. However, it can be a way to learn between these countries and their main social differences. In general, Canadians stand out for being a friendly, malicious population who value honesty, empathy, and basic values in their relationships with friends and acquaintances. They also respect privacy and individualism. In general evidence, Canadians do not share these basic manners much, like Colombians, where they lack any empathy in their acquaintances or for their own independence. These values could build “good manners” in each society in Latin American and European countries. I think that in Canada they are very respectful of the rules and, unlike the rules in Colombia they are very lazy in their studies, they do not seek support from their teachers nor are they independent at an early age, compared to Canadian people, they are very strict in enforcing their academic duties. For example, children are allowed to be independent and responsible from an early age, and may need support from adults, their teachers, or parents, in the same way they do from their friends in class.

  2. Some similarities between Canadians and Colombians are that they have different perspectives on the United States, mentioning Americans or a related issue can provoke discussions or criticism that some find uncomfortable. Regardless of the political or social context, the topic of abortion is considered almost taboo in open discussions, as are theories about differences between genders or races. Behaviors seen as sexist or racist are among the most repudiated attitudes in Canada and in any other country like Colombia, even if no one agrees on what i s considered “racism” or “sexism” we have a lot to learn from Canada. Another similarity of Canadians is that they are very compliant in terms of arrival times and schedules, unlike Colombians who arrive late everywhere and are not compliant in terms of arrival times. We do not share this social similarity. In Canada, if someone tells you “Come at 3:00 pm", you are expected to be there at 3:00 pm. A breach of 15 minutes or more is rude, and an apology will be expected. In the same way, arriving 15 minutes too early is considered rushed and presumptuous, it causes an uncomfortable situation for the host who is not yet warned of such early arrivals considered “racism” or “sexism” we have a lot to learn from Canada.
